So I must post this because someone took the time and effort to make my entire week here at this site. They took the time to look over my collection, and sent me some very nice coins (in my eyes) I'm even more lucky because I almost missed his offer and would have never saw his post. And when the package got here there were some unforeseen issues, almost thought it would have been shipped back, and he would have spent all that time and money for nothing. But somehow I managed to see the mailman drive by and I think he ffelt badd for me and went back to see if the package was still there, and I think he resent it. Stepped on a nice thorn in the process. I think that thorn was a reminder to me as to why you should always be one step ahead ahaha but anyways, I get home and open the package. The guy is a really nice guy. let me tell you, my heart goes out to ya. 1911 S?!?! What?! 1912 s???? 1915 S? 1909 no vdb? That 1921 and 24 S... love those too. Out of all those coins my faves are the 1911 s. 21 and 24 s. Love love loooove the rainbow effect on the 24 s. and funny thing is that Bahamas penny is one of my favorite world coins but I got one that looks different, haven't seen this version though. It's crazy that you sent that coin haha Gosh man, thanks a lot, you have no clue how appreciative I am. If I am not wrong, you basically sent me 100 bucks give or take a few pennies... lol You know who you are, not sure if I have permission to associate you with this. And another thing thank you coin chat for giving me this chance because of it weren't for coin chat, I wouldn't be able to write this, and it would have probably taken me forever to get this far in my collection. Thank you all and happy hunting
Cameras don't do justice. If I could show you what it looks like with my phone light... that would do justice on how cool it looks lol
OK, so some of those have "issues" (the "rainbow effect" you love so much on that '24-S is, in this particular case, secondary toning from an old cleaning, so it's a minor "problem" rather than a plus). But if you like 'em, that's what counts. Some look problem-free, just worn. That steelie looks pretty nice. They all look like fun. And hey... sounds like the price was right! That was a super kind gesture of your benefactor, no matter what condition the coins were in. I like people who take the time to write open thank-you letters like this, show real enthusiasm, and post pictures of what they got. So I'll tell you what- since you like those Bahamian coins, I have quite a few proof singles and specimen-quality UNCs that were cut out of low-mintage Bahamian mint and proof sets. (I got 'em for free or nearly free from a kind Collectors Universe member a while back- so what comes around goes around. CU has been very good to me, and I've both gotten and given a lot over there. Just gettin' started here, since I started regularly posting here last August, despite my early join date.) So anyway, these Bahamian proof singles were left over after a dealer had cannibalized some sets for the silver coins, so they're nonsilver denominations like 1c, 5c, 10c, and maybe a 15c piece or two. Nonsilver, and low catalog value ($1-ish apiece), but with spectacular eye appeal. I'll send you a small sampling of 'em if you PM your address and are patient with me (I've got a bunch of giveaway commitments and a trade to ship out, so I'm playing catchup on my mailing obligations). I've got several rolls of BU Wheaties, too, though only the very common late dates. Regards, Robertson ("Rob") Shinnick ("LordM")
Why yes I do love an odd looking coin so I don't mind that it's damaged, I kinda figured that was the case. But thanks for letting me know!! wow... are you serious?! Well this was very unexpected!! You do realize that I have to go to sleep tonight haha got me all excited!!!! Haha wow man. I am flabbergasted. I'll be sure to show pictures on here and would love to associate your name with this if you don't mind. And honestly I don't mind anything added to my collection because I still do keep every Canada coin I find in whatever condition it's in. I love coins in general and I make it apart of my daily habits. And as of value, it holds a value to me more than anyone could put a price on. No one can put a price to happy and that is what this makes me feel I'll always remember you by the coins too. Thanks guys don't think coins gets any better than this unless you finding the 1955 s wheat double die.
Canada too, eh? I'll put you some fun freebies together. No '55 DDO! (I think those were only Phillies and not S-mints, anyway.) Just PM your address... and remind me, if two or three weeks have dragged on and you ain't got sumpin'-sumpin' in yer mailbox.
Lolol mr coin guy haha no I don't particularly like Canada coins, honestly, I like foreign coins in general and would collect anything really to include the ever abundant Canada coin. Favorites are Asian coins (or any) made with a hole. Like my Thailand coin (Siam) 1943 picture for my profile. Those type of coins are my favorites too. What type of coin do you prefer?
As you can perhaps see from my collection and sig line, I sorta "like it all". Primarily I'm into older World & Ancient coins (the "Dark Side"!) , but I haven't forgotten my roots as a "Litesider" (collector of US stuff.) I have TONS of cheap-but-cool World stuff. I'll hook you up with a little. Coins with holes, eh? Been there, done that. (though not coins made with holes- I collected the ones that somebody had put a hole in centuries ago).
Hahaha you would like crystals too lolol. What's your favorite crystals? You have to have a preference with that lol. I love black tourmaline and flourite Loved that hat too lol wear it very well. We have a lot in common!! I like any coin too . Thanks again so much for reading and taking the time to do this. I much appreciate it!!
