Another 1914-S. Puts my little hoard up to 14 examples now - 26 more for the roll!</p><p><br /></p><p>For those not real familiar with the series this is a tough (and under rated IMHO) coin. Only 264,000 minted. Same mintage as a 1916-D Mercury dime actually.</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>A regular customer brought it in yesterday with a few other coins to do some bartering. I got a look before the boss did and told the customer it would most likely find a good home in my house.</p><p>So the boss ends up with it while I was busy with another customer. Later he asks if I had seen it. Duhhhh! He never has any because I buy them. I tell him I&#039;m interested in it.</p><p><br /></p><p>He gives me a price UNDER bid which surprised me and I tell him I&#039;ll get it today. THEN he wonders if he has any in inventory for sale should a customer want one. THAT&#039;S when I tell him no.</p><p>His reponse? &quot;I should have charged you more&quot;.&nbsp; Still he honored the price quoted and this baby is now mine.[/QUOTE]</p><p><br /></p>
