Does anyone buy kilo size bars? Apmex has their own branded kilo size bar that says it is ISO certified and eligible for IRA. I am still trying to get my arms around that

I'd radther just buy 1, 5 or 10 oz bars that are about the same price per oz over spot (I would consider buying a kilo coin if i liked the design). As far as putting it in an IRA, I'm not sold on that concept yet. It all boils down to the idea of not being able to physically hold the silver. That just doesn't sit well with me.

Sure they do. Some folks even buy 1000 ounce bars.

Those bars aren't popular in the USA.

Here is a comment from xtronic on them on another thread.

    oooohhhh.....

Yes please on the photos! That has to be some of the nicest bar silver there is. I bought two kilo stackers from APMEX but they are not good looking at all. When I bought them, I was thinking they might be like th Scottsdale....no joy.

The kilos from Apmex are very efficient use of space. I think they are made by Academy.

The only reason I am not happy with them is they are more awkward to play with/pickup. The stacking is nice but they just kinda have a bit of ugly to them.

If I was going to do more kilos (wont because of odd sizing), I would look to Scottsdale. They too are made by Academy but have a much nicer look.

I have been collecting for almost 10 years and am starting to think that the ASE are the way to go from now on (for me).
