One Dollar coin -error?

Is it an error? Thanks

    I think it was an error for the US Mint just to make Dollar coins.

    Wheels...Thanks for the compare coin. All I have are 2000s with the soaring eagle. Here is an AU58 close up. It appears a gouge was made, then the triangles, can't be sure if it was simultaneous or not. This AU58 is showing the same as your comparison.

    I stoppered down the light intensity to bring out some contrast of the neck/wing join area.

    How the heck did yours happen?

    I think we will never know lol. It’s interesting that the gauge made left the triangles there so intact. For the triangles to be still there in such a shape is very weird. At least I think it would be great to know how that came about
