All of the news is slanted. FOX one way CNN the other. They are both disgraces.
The New York Times a symbol of integrity for 100 years, NOT ANY MORE, is a pile of trash. I wouldn't even wrap fish in that propagandist rag.
I can't even watch the news anymore. It's all lies, and someone trying to trick you into seeing their distorted point of view.
JUST GIVE ME THE FACTS AND LET ME MAKE UP MY OWN MIND. I
don't want someone's opinion when I am given the news on TV or in print.

Nobody checked with me. I can't even watch the news anymore. Angers me so I leave it turned off most of the times or use youtube for information getting. More info actually ON youtube than any one of the 'news' channels. I do have my political favorite mouthpieces on certain channels though (as I'm sure we all do).

Where do you get your actual news? Just asking for comparison.

PBS worked for a while for me, NPR sorta still does, but it REALLY REALLY is an urban vs. rural perspective problem. And by definition, media outlets are GOING to be in cities, so..... the rural "fly over" perspective ALWAYS gets minimized. But they do vote in numbers higher than they get polled. Often ignored fact - voting days in the U.S. were initially scheduled for maximum convenience of ... (wait for it) ... FARMERS! And it still works that way. (Four years as a county Election Director.)

Interesting. Yeah it's a shame you have to go to 'alternative sources' like the internet, youtube to actually get something akin to 'news'.

True, but also mixed in there is stuff so ignorant even cable TV won't touch it. How good is YOUR filter?

By the way, all that text crawl at the bottom of the screen makes me wanna load up the ol' 12 gauge. Who decided THAT'S a good idea?

My cable company has youtube through one of their options and it gets used to what I watch so it kinda finds things for me. Still, probably 80% garbage though.

We have become a species that self-segregates. We tend to live near other people who think as we do. I am an obvious exception. I get a secret thrill knowing that my views would absolutely ANNOY THE BEJABBERS out of my closest neighbors. It makes me snicker. I pretend they don't exist, and they pay me the same favor. But I am the exception, probably because I'm old. If I had to look forward to living among people with views like my neighbors' for decades and decades, I'd either have to plan on moving, or slitting my wrists. So I believe we are to an extent NEVER BEFORE SEEN, self-segregated into communities of like-minded individuals. We never see "the others", we don't associate with them, and we pretend they don't exist.

    Anybody see the problem here?

Yup. Definitely what I do and exactly why I built my house in the middle of the woods. (I'm surrounded by unlike-minded thinking people so I had to ).

Ahh, the "good fences make good neighbors" theory. Very nice.

Alas, I'm living in the "your fire is my smoke damage" system. And that's if I'm LUCKY.

Yes, me too. The smoke is choking me these days but that's what the natural fence is for and the purposeful omission of 'news' source channels helps defend against.

Since preference in "Facts" , "Truth", and "News Sources" varies with strong feelings, Do not let it go into Political discussion. Its been calm recently, so keep it that way ....Please.

    Or Else!! Jim
