Why should he stop posting? Is it just that you don't want to hear the truth.

Lets say for a moment that he is just trying to help you out since you are young. Why not then prove your honesty and integrity to him by saying something like this: "I really enjoy your shop but I wanted to make sure that you do know that you are selling me these items way below their fair market value."

If he responds by saying "I know, but you are young and I want you to be interested in coins" then you will instantly appear honest to him. If he says "thank you" and then starts selling them at a more reasonable price then he clearly didn't know and you did the right thing by telling him. Either way, mentioning it is the right route.

Yeah, I think that is exactly what gunnovice meant.

Coming from the king of assumptions, should I take this as a compliment? Observations are not the same as assumptions, young man.

Why? Because this is not something a reputable "dealer" does, nor is it something a fair and reasonable person should do. Respect begets respect... remember this.

Maybe this guy is remembering when he was young and just started collecting. Trying to help a kid out who just started a collection. Not knowing the OP is heading right to a coin shop flipping his good nature for a profit. I know my conscience wouldn't let me to continue doing this to someone especially when I was a kid.

I've read this entire thread. You don't want to admit the fact that what you are doing is wrong. You are taking advantage of someone for personal profits. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Well, you have a LOT to learn my young friend. And respect should be on the top of your list.

What do you mean nope? I'm trying to dissect my statement to make this make sense. There are 4 sentences in my statement...so let me go through this.

1: "I've read this entire thread." I have...so I assume that's not what you are referring to.

2: "You don't want to admit the fact that what you are doing is wrong." I believe this is the statement that "nope" refers to because you keep dancing around the fact that your actions are immoral.

3: "You are taking advantage of someone for personal profits." Again, same as #2.

4: "You should be ashamed of yourself." You might mean that you aren't ashamed...which is why I said you should be.

One thing you need to understand...and being young is the best time to learn this...is that honesty is always the right route. If you seek out opportunities to take advantage of others (which is exactly what this is) you might benefit in the short term...but over the long term it will be your undoing. It is best to always do whats right...it is never a mistake.

I do not reply to many post's any longer..mostly due to illness but a lot of my reasoning is due to exactly what is happening in this thread with the OP.
All I can say it that the OP sounds very much like a former member that rubbed the bark off the tree with radical vocal videos, comments and verbal battles with many long standing members.
All I can really say now is that God gave us 2 ears and 1 mouth...hummm makes you wonder right?

Funny all this maturity coming from a child who felt it necessary to actually warn us of his.

To me, good ethics leads you to do the right thing when no one else will ever know. Regardless of age, some never achieve that.

I completely agree. I think our OP is still very young...and everyone who understands this has to learn it at some point. Hopefully the OP thinks about it and maybe learns it from this.

If this guys is knowingly giving you a good deal because of your young age...it's because he wants to give you a jump start on your collection and spark an interest. He's not doing it so you can run down the street to the coin shop and flip his good will to make an extra buck. If you really think this is why you are getting a good deal...tell him you are flipping the coins for an immediate profit and see what he says.

Deleted one post. Some of you are acting more childish than the OP. Closing the thread.
