Olympic America the Beautiful 5 Ounce Bullion

    I came across this article and thought I might pass it on. The article provides a sale date to AP's of May 23rd for the bullion version of the Olympic coin. In addition, the mintage will be 200 more (126,700 vs. 126,500) than previous 2011 5 ouncers. This could potentially suggest that the demand is there for these coins, but then again 200 coins is not a very substantial change. I must say that Olympic is one of my more favorite designs in 2011 for the National Park quarter series. Thus, I look forward to purchasing one of this coin. :smile

    Are others on this forum planning on purchasing the Olympic 5 ouncer? Any other comments on the Olympic coin are also welcome...

    Thanks for the article. I won't buy the bullion version for sure because I don't like the finish on them. It looks too much like stainless steel or aluminum foil. I may buy the collector's version later in the year, as I like the satin/matte look better. If you want the bullion version, check with Provident Metals or Gainesville Coins. They usually have the best prices.
