Older US Gold Grade Input Request

    This is one of the coins I suspect is fake, but I couldn't be positive without seeing better photos . . . in addition to the mushiness of the letters and numerals, there should be a diagnostic depression above the "O" in "DOLLAR" and another between the second 8 and the top of the bow.

    I known Mike aka Tough coins for quite a few years now. Now only here on CT but at shows like Whitman.
    Having known Mike ,dealing with him, and the relationship we do have here I knew He was the one to ask.....be it good or bad news. These fakes are good fakes!
    And it takes a good eye and knowlege to spot them.
    Which is why I summons Mike in the first place....;)

    Another example of the wisdom of sticking to slabbed old gold, I suppose, unless one really trusts the seller.

    And my spine gets a chill when I see “estate sale.”
