https://docs.google.com/presentatio...rVhLf8/mobilepresent?slide=id.gbce5aa1c31_0_0. Here you go, this style holder actually wasn't supposed to exist based on the research.
Very cool slab. I have been looking for one of those since I started collecting soap box slabs and have never found one in hand.
I've never been a registered customer of ANACS. I guess if I want the info from the "horse's mouth" I'll have to create an account with them. And include an image of the reverse (I've got it; just need to attach it). Annoying, but ....
I'm not completely sure if the research is exactly accurate so yes you'll most likely have to do it the hard way if you want a true answer. If your one of those people that don't like to click links it says 2006-2007 so since you said around 20 years it must be wrong.
Personally, I like the coin inside the slab, nice. ANACS has changed their logo stamp many times over the years, I would go directly to them. Good luck.
Sure as hell looks tons better than their current style slab. Those guys at ANACs just slow to realize no one really likes their current style slab?
So I tried to create an account on ANACS. I already had one (probably years old). LOL Anyway, I looked up the slab and found it. BUT ANACS doesn't include the date they slabbed it. So I sent them an e-mail asking for the info. We'll see.
Don't know. If it did I wouldn't have paid attention to it because Gen 7.2 wouldn't have meant anything to me, at least not as a date.
I am wondering because in potty's reference it seems the guy just threw the slab in last because it was a soap box and didn't have any rhyme with a new style Gen 8. Also these slabs were only used on detailed coins. So, I wonder myself how they fit in and when they started using them. I do hope that @Conder101 chimes in.
I'm guessing it's after this one I believe they switched after 86 at least, that's the latest Photo Grade ANACS I have, but as others note, there are plenty of informed folks on this site that will know better than me.
No. It looks simply like the normal blue mountain details label in the late phase (2M+). What you are pointing to is a specific combination of a very late cert# (i.e. outside the soapbox range from 0...3million something) PLUS a specific hologram AND a straight graded coin. Not likely. You are talking four ownerships ago and the knowledge is no longer @ ANACS. That's the reason John has had to create this information through archeology. Again, repeating my 1st comment, this is Outside the normal cert# range. In fact, that whole block of numbers in the 70M range was inaccessible until the ANACS web developer was able to find a bad database join A label used for details coins used for a non-details coin A specific reverse hologram used apparently outside it's known range OP's cert number dates it to the end of the 1999-early 2006 range.
Neat slab @MIGuy your is a photograde type 6. It didn't have the dominion hard case, It would have been sent back in a plastic flip. I also found this ANACS "PROBLEM" COIN SLABS - Google Slides Here is a gen 1 ANACS slab.
I kept trying to remember who the other slab fanatic was. Kept drawing a blank. Thanks for chiming in.
ANACS nicely got back to me this morning. Curiosity has been sated. I quote their response: "I pulled the details of the coin. I show the coin was graded and encapsulated in August of 2006."
The earliest ANA Certification Service photo Certs were signed by Charles Hoskins. They were issued In the 1970's before the service was moved from DC to CO.
Phew. @kanga if it had been earlier we would never know. All the data prior to September (?) 2005 shows September 2005 as that was when it was imported from the prior system!
