Siberian Man: thanks! I love the old Spanish stuff, too. . . and the old Mexican stuff is good as well.
Great thread. Nice coins, every last one of them. Here are 2 Spanish gold coins, that I own a 1 & 2 Escudo. Both minted in Madrid. :hail:
Very nice Eugene. Here is one of his kid, minus his huge head. I like the reverse a nice pillars image.
Viscayan Republic (1936-1937). Antifascist zone at Nothern Spain during the first period of Spanish Civil War (1936-1939). Only two types of coins were circulated there.
Привет от одного Томича другому. Правда я из Сибири уехал совсем ребенком 30 лет назад. Awesome post. If you don't mind, I will add one. Charles (Carlos) III: King of Spain Reign 10 August 1759–14 December 1788 Charles III was the King of Spain and the Spanish Indies from 1759 to 1788. He was the eldest son of Philip V of Spain and his second wife, the Princess Elisabeth Farnese. As king of Spain Charles III tried to rescue his empire from decay through far-reaching reforms such as weakening the Church and its monasteries, promoting science and university research, facilitating trade and commerce, modernizing agriculture and avoiding wars. He never achieved satisfactory control over finances, and he had to borrow more and more. His reforms proved short-lived and Spain relapsed after his death. His physical appearance was dominated by the Bourbon nose that he had inherited from his father's side of the family.
I got it a few days ago. It's a 25-centimos coin of king Alfonso XIII. The single release only. I like the design.
