The game isn't the same anymore. Now it looks like yu-gi-oh and cartoonish. I loved the darker side and feel to MTG. That's gone now.

I have had many friends from India and they have all told me that 24 karat gold is so soft that when wearing it against your skin, the wear from friction is significant. Most Indian jewelry is 22 karat gold which they say is the highest gold percentage that will resist wear. I think that was also the percentage of the circulating American gold coinage.

Fact - I want to share this from Wikipedia.. quote "Olympic Gold medals are required to be made from at least 92.5% silver, and must contain a minimum of 6 grams of gold" unquote.. Olympic Medals are plated!

Also - I want to share this info I read one time that has to do with your question.. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TastyGold

Some Indian sweets come with silver or gold foil.

I buy lots of old gold. The only ones with possible teeth marks were $1 gold coins, as these are so thin. I can't guarantee they were all teeth marks, but I have bought enough $1 gold coins with the same little dents, that I would imagine thats what it would be.

6 grams of gold is still more than is in a $2.50 gold eagle.

6 grams is just under 1/5 oz of gold...not worth dedicating your life to one thing imo.

Most of Olympians have to find jobs after their careers are over unless they have really good endorsements. A metal really only has sentimental value. You can go on eBay and find people selling their Olympic metals. The gold metals are usually the only ones that don't get sold, although you see them once in a blue moon.

I seriously doubt if ANY of the Olympic athletes are dedicating their lives based on the value of the metal in any awards they might win.

I agree with you completely, I'm just stating that less athletes sale their gold metals than say a silver or bronze. Its all about the recognition, fame, and money. I would say country but lest be honest, that went out the window a long time ago.
