I don't remember how old I was when I got this but it had to have been many years ago. Two of the better toned coins. I'm curious if the reverses have any toning. And for a single reverse sample... This one is from a 1952-D Last one from my sample pulls. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Would it be worth spending some $$$ to get them slabbed? Not just to get a grade but more so to keep them secure from prying lil fingers with a 7, 2, and 1 year old in the house. I figure a slab can take getting dropped if I leave it on a counter but a book full of pennies getting dropped on the floor with kid fingers on them... Oh no.
Thanks goodness! It took so long to load I thought you were talking about the chair. Nice looking collection.
OK, here's a thought...have two sheets of plexiglas cut to fit the panels, tear the paper off the back so you can see the reverses, and sandwich the coins between the two sheets so you could display them with no damage.
No I do not. But I doubt anyone's kid would be able to find a hidden safe, then crack the code, and finally grab the coins inside and destroy them.
This one time when I was 10 I found my dads hidden 12 gauge, loaded it, racked one into the chamber, opened the bathroom window and let loose some birdshot. Don't be surprised what a kid with some ingenuity and some smarts can do when they set their mind to it. That shotgun became my personal toy for years every time they went out of town.
You first said "secure spot" not "safe". Kids can be really smart and figure out more than some parents even realize
You never actually mentioned a 'hidden safe'. Granted, a kid might not be able to get into a good safe, but absent a safe, when it comes to kids, there is no spot in a home that is secure.
my point is that if one is careful enough I think they could outsmart their children when it comes to hiding such important things. Be it a safe, hidden compartment in the wall, a treasure map leading to your collection etc... It would seem some fo you guys miss arguing with me... I'm not that guy anymore. I'll leave it at that.
