It went for over $500.</p><p><br /></p><p>Back in 2008, I believe, Heritage sold a 1924 Philly bag that held 1924 double eagles. It was in the mint vault during a robbery. It went for decent money too.</p><p><br /></p><p>These old bags can be really rare. A lot were destroyed. I remember hearing a story about how bankers would take empty bags and burn them. Then sift through the ashes looking for any specs of gold and silver that may have chipped or flaked off the coins.
