I asked and you delivered !! I had asked if you collected Australian coins and I can see you do ! Maybe you can provide some clarification on the dot by the dat on some coins and not on others. Also some have 2 stars and some have only 1 , what is the significance ? Thanks
Very nice photos. I have never encountered a predecimal Australian coin, so it is nice to real see the real thing.
Beautiful coins SM, I especially like your 1936 Half Penny. Recently an eBay seller (who may be a member here) offered two 1870 Sydney mint Victoria Sovereigns. One was about XF and went for $460. The other however was an undergraded NGC AU58 that went for $536. It looked MS62 to me and was a real beauty. It would have been mine except I had to pay my son's tuition at Indiana University this week and I am for all intents and purposes broke for awhile. Yes, I do appreciate Australian coins.
"and I am for all intents and purposes broke for awhile." Think of it as not broke , but the prime time to search pocket change and thrift stores for those old coin purses that someone left that 1 special coin in
Australia Three Pence 1910 The first year Australia issued coins, and this one looks like it has been in circulation for 100 years. Australia Florin 1944-S Struck in San Francisco, California, near where I live.
And believe it or not... I paid $3 USD for this proof set only 4 years ago or so. A bit cloudy on the outside of the plastic, but the coins are all pristine... the one penny coin has a bad habit of wiggling around and manuevering itself nearly upside down.
That is some pretty interesting toning. Great looking coin, I like that design alot. Especially since its the only Australian one with that particular style bust of George V(that I know of).
I collect Australian. I really like your florins, and also the crown. Those are on my wish list for sure.
