    Hi all!

I found a few 1979 s coins. Most appear to be Type 1. I found two that look a bit different and wondered could they be Type2!?!?

Don’t feel badly. We all started out somewhere. If you search for images of SBA Type I and II, you will see what each mint marks looks like and for me, at least, it’s kind of simple. The 79-S Type I looks like a blob, the Type II looks more like an S and less like an S shaped hill.

The 81-S looks exactly like the 79 Type II, because it is exactly the same Mint mark punch, and the S Of The Type II has different sized loops (top and bottom of the S)
