coins are being stolen left and right where I live by drug addicts so they can get another fix. rare coins or collector coins mean absolutely nothing to people like this except a way to get another hit of something.

Or it could have been just rolled up and some kid didn't even look. Unmarked roll, just cash it in. Either way it could be 1) a stolen roll, 2) some elderly guy who had them rolled and forgot they were keepers) or family clearing out some guy's stuff who didn't check it. Those are the scenarios I can think of.

nice find! ive never had much luck with nickels, except the occasional dateless buffalo. once i found a 1907 liberty head, but thats the only goodie so far. i think the coins were deposited individually and rolled at the bank considering that there is a wwj jefforson in there. my BOA branch rolls coins in CWRs that look exactly the same as the ones in the pic

It's just odd that it has newer nickels in it as well. Makes me think that they had them sitting around with the normal pocket change and just rolled them all up when there was enough to fill the roll.

Now *that's* a score! Congrats! It's always nice to get a reminder that the time and effort does pay off from time to time. :)
