Possible, yes. But you are making it seem like the other story is not possible. Who is the fool?

We often start fights when things become too boring. Besides, it's not just the guys who start fights.

Obviously the poster meant "receipts". The ad was probably posted from an iPhone with autocorrect enabled.

I'm not going to do this.....if you want to live in lala land and make me out to be ridiculous for saying this could have been stolen just as much as it is possible that they could have inherited it, then go for it. You probably still believe in the Easter Bunny too. I have been robbed. Twice. By family. It happens all the time to people.

I don't know where you get off saying that I'm saying the other story is impossible. Read my post. I said that they didn't put this collection together, that it fell in their lap. That's pretty much an inheritance. I don't know why you would only pay attention to what is in the ()......that's pretty....foolish of you.

While it may drive YOU crazy, there are countless Coin Dealers, jewelers, and bullion buyers that take advantage of the ignorance of the general population on a daily basis.............and then there are thieves.

Alright, alright, we're bumping off topic. I'd pass.

In my experiences, most likely/suspected stolen material isn't photographed and advertised for all the world to see, but magically comes out only after contact is made. I know some gems are stupid enough to think no one would check CL for missing property, but "thief" isn't always synonymous with "idiot".

That collection looks, from a far distance, like a pile of junk. Recipes???? That's a new one.

If someone stole that pile of coins from me, I'd thank them for weeding-out the junk :p

There are many ways coins end up in other people's collections. Maybe someone else did a garage sale and wanted to get rid of coins (and maybe THAT person lowballed their collection too?). Etc... etc... etc.... Not necessarily stolen. Of course some people do steal but how do you know if this guy did? :p

A lot of people know NOTHING about coins, why do people jump to conclusions like this?

I don't think they are stolen. Most collectors are like Gollum when it comes to safe-keeping coins. Probably a hand-me-down.
