A long time ago In a Galaxy Far Away It used to be very normal for coin collectors to clean their coins that were in there collection. We have a elderly gentleman that comes into the shop where I volunteer two days a week. He buy's very beat up cull coins mostly Morgans and Peace Dollars. Takes them home and "shines them up" I have discussed with him more than once about how cleaning a coin affects their value. It is of no matter to him. He likes shiny ones. And he makes it a point to bring back in the ones he has "Shined Up" to show them off. The first couple of dozen times he did this I got a sick feeling in my stomach. He is not trying to sell them and he is not hiding what he does in any way. When you see one of these they look almost chromed they are so shiny. This is just one way he enjoys himself. Now the worst of the worst get saved for him instead of going to the smelter. It is a challenge for him I think. To take some of the nastiest Silver Dollars he can find and "Shine Them Up"
I like the 48. Let me know it it becomes available, anybody wanna take a stab at what happened to the 30 something cent?
