8th, Alegandron: Diadumenian, Homonoia, a hard task, but I think I got it: (1) The rev. legend has a break between O and V by kalathos of Homonoia. That occurs only at ΛONΓINO - V, not possible at AΓPIΠΠA. (2) There are 3 types with this rev. and different obv. dies. They differ only by the position of OC of ΔIAΔOVMENIANOC. Your coin must be HrHJ (2018) 8.25.36.1 Best regards
Jochen, because of crossover I'm sure you have seen mine. But you are welcome to use anything I have. Plautilla, wife of Caracalla. Nicopolis, Moesia Inferior; Æ 25. Her marriage to Caracalla was demanded by his father, the Roman emperor Septimius Severus, since Plautilla's father, Plautianus, was an old friend of Septimius Severus (who had appointed him as his praetorian prefect). Her father fell out of favor in 205 A.D., whereupon she was banished to the Lipari islands. She was murdered by Caracalla's order in 211 A.D. Obv: Her bust, right. Rev: Aphrodite standing nude, facing, and modestly covering herself with her hands. AMNG (Pick)___, BMC___ (a single example for Plautilla, with different reverse), SNG Copenhagen___ (NO examples for Plautilla!). A single example cited by Varbanov, #3202.
Plautilla; Nicopolis, Moesia inferior; Æ 25. Obv: Her bust, right. Rev: Athena standing facing, head right, and holding spear and shield, the latter on a small base. Again, AMNG (Pick)___, BMC___ (a single example for Plautilla), SNG Copenhagen___ (NO examples for Plautilla!). Varbanov (Engl.) 3189. THIS COIN pictured!
Diadumenian. 218 A.D. Nicopolis, Moesia Inferior; Æ 27. Obv: His bare- headed, draped bust, right. Rev: Diadumenian on horseback, right, brandishing spear in his right arm; enemy beneath hooves of horse. AMNG (Pick) 1870.
Elagabalus. 218-222 A.D. Nicopolis, Moesia Inferior; Æ 26. Obv: His radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust, right. Rev: Mt. Haimos as a young man sitting left on a rock, with a light gown over his shoulder and knees; his head turned to the right. His right arm is raised over his head and his left hand is resting on the rock or a tree stump. A bear at the base of the rock springs right, toward a deer fleeing right. The legend includes the Roman legate Rufus' name. Nice dark green patina. VF. AMNG (Pick) 1953.
Dear arizonarobin! Thank you for your coins. Here I have the attribution: (1) Plautilla, Hermes, HrHJ (2018) 8.21.10.1 (your coin), very rare (R8) (2) Plautilla, Nike, HrHJ (2018) 8.21.9.2 (same dies, but writes NIKOΠOΛIT) (3) Plautilla, Zeus, HrHJ (2018) 8.21.1.1 (4) Domna, Tyche, HrHJ (2018) 8.17.38.1 (same dies), interesting EΠ ICTPΩ (5) Domna, Tyche, HrHJ (2018) 8.17.38.2 (same dies). The QEA (divine) is exceptional. It doesn't mean that Domna has deceased but should be a flattering epithet. (6) Domna, Severus, HrHJ (2018) 8.14.34.32 (same dies). Because the ethnic is on the side with Domna it is the rev. Therefore this coin ist listed under Severus. (7) Domna, Peacock, HrHJ (2018) 8.17.3.4 (same dies). The obv. legend is IOVΛIA ΔOMNA CEBA. (8) Domna, Lion, HrHJ (2018) 8.17.53.1 (same dies) (9) Domna, Volute krater, HrHJ (2018) 8.17.52.6 (same dies). The rev. legends ends with ICTPO. (10) Domna, Hermes, not listed in Hristova/Hoeft/Jekov (2018). I would like to add this coin to Nikopolis Addenda #6 at FAC (11) Domna, Legend, HrHJ (2018) 8.17.54.4 (same dies) Best regards
