I have this half with a very odd dent? or something on both sides opposite each other. It looks mint induced as the luster goes right through it. At first I figured it it was something between the planchet and the die when it was struck. But the fact that they are directly opposite each other rules that out. Anyway. let me know what you think and we can compare notes. Regards, Mike
It took a hit there. My main question is whether it’s .900 silver or .400 silver clad. A look at the edge can easily determine that. Worth the melt value of the silver content, then, regardless.
If you have a scale, the .900 Silver version (1964) is one (1) gram heavier than the .400 Silver versions (1965-1970). 12.5 grams (.900) vs. 11.5 grams (.400).
