Odd edge on 1999-P State Quarter

    So, a lady gave me some change for a dollar, and I got this. Is it an error or a fake quarter?

    Acid will dissolve the pure copper core faster than the copper/nickel alloyed outer layers.

    Your quarter was subjected to an acidic environment.

    Not an error, but it is a real quarter.
