Odd Chinese coin ID help

    Here's a strange little Chinese coin that just came in a mixed lot. It looks like it is made of a different metal than is typical of Chinese coins. My eight-year-old son thinks it might be a reproduction...
    It's about the size of a US quarter.
    Any insight would be appreciated.

    Super odd. Doesn't look like anything official I've ever seen. I'd be tempted to say modern reproduction of some sort, but there are far more qualified people than me who can figure out this mystery, such as @TypeCoin971793
