Has this quarter been intentionally modified or is it a mint error(s)? This quarter has multiple odd characteristics. The first is that it is discolored in that it is a dark brown but underneath that it looks either light brown or copper color which you can see in the picture on both the reverse and obverse sides. On the obverse side the lettering is warn down almost smooth. The head still stands out at the top as it is not smooth like the lettering but you can't see the pattern in the hair or at least it does not look like others. On the obverse side there is also a ridge running from eye down in a curve to under the "P" and out to the edge. It is not a scratch but an actual raised ridge which you can see in the picture. On the reverse side the lettering is warn down but not to the point that it is smooth. On the outside edge it has a groove all the way around. If this was intentionally cut into it they did a very good job as it is straight and smooth all the way around. Thanks for any feedback.
