With all due respect, why is it that every times this happens someone posts an obviously useless image of the coin. If your here to ask questions about this potential "find" why don't you download a decent picture that we can look at. You can't tell a darn thing from that photograph. Isn’t that obvious? I'm starting to feel like the same person is trolling out this same thread week after week. BTW - use a real camera and put it on MAcro when you take the picture, with a decent white balance on a simple and plain background and the image should be about 600Px wide. Thanks Ruben
Oh it isn't completely wasted as it may hopefully result in people posting better images. If I can add another comment shoot the pictures staight on and not at some weird angle. (unless you are trying to show something about the edge of the coin, as in a partial collar or overlapped edge lettering.)
Hey! i have a same coin just like you describe it. in addition to your description, the head character is not shiny with soft and very define lines on it. Any one has the conclusion about it? i have been touching the coin several times, i hope it has no acid nor anything wrong with it. i received it from customer pay at the gas station that i worked for and since its odd, i switch that coin with mine so i can keep it. picture below is the actual coin that i have the 1996 coin is looks normal for me, its just odd that how 1980s coin looks a lot brand new compare to the younger ones such as 1996, i compare it to the very new ones like 2012 ones that are brand new, but the 1980 that i have is shinier than them as well. does it worth anything good? i'm ticked to bring it to pawn star shop when we going to vegas and see what is it all about.
One is a proof, it's supposed to be shiney the other is a business strike, it's not supposed to look like a proof.
Wow, I think I have one to. It is all silver looking and no clad. It just doesn't feel right? It's missing that sweet ring of silver. I tested it against a 1949 and the sound is different. I'm going to weight it. I found it in change in NJ. I thought it was out of a mint set that someone put into Cir. If it is counterfeit, I want to turn it into the authorities as a clue. Not related to this but, I found a 1798 large cent at 3" with my whites MX sport. It was a good summer coin hunting.
