Well, I've been at it for awhile... Sadly though, I'm missing all sorts of coins, including some surprisingly common types where I haven't found the "right" example yet. Even regarding the Lepidus/Octavian type, I still "need" three more coins, since in my lunacy I'm trying to assemble all the Crawford sub-varieties of the denarius and fractions, not just an example of each of the main types.

By the way, the coin you posted is the best Lepidus portrait in silver I've ever seen. Great choice! If I'm not mistaken I know that coin; I'm pretty sure I sold it to its present owner (on behalf of HJB, not personally.)

Very nice Octavian alde, with even wear adds to the coins attractiveness, I have one Octavian denarius minted about the same time as yours 38 BC, it features the senate house Curia Julia, still standing in the Forum today. 30-29 BC Octavian Senate house Curia Julia.jpg

Cool coin, but what's with the shape? Was it somehow clipped, while sparing the entire design?

It actually made the coin affordable, what has happened in the minting process 38 BC the silver was to soft and splayed out to 25mm making it very thin and weak in areas, subsequently cracking and breaking in the lower part having said that the coin still weighs 3.4gm and thick enough around Octavian and the building. In good VF this coin sells for heaps so would not be able to afford unless had this pre condition.
