Well, then what the H:devil:ll was his point of "thanking" you, for your views? He thanks you for your support of the dollar coin, yet he tells you he is going to protect the $1 bill?

I think I am going to write to my Congressmen (*again*) and tell them to introduce legislation to redesign the $1 and $2 bills, and the half dollar, like I said for a yellow tinted colorized, big head $1 bill with a darker yellow $ sign to the right of George Washington, and a complete redesign of the back with a low-vision numeral and to basically conform the $5 and up, and you know the drill for the $2 bill and the half, but for those of you who don't, a bluish-green tinted big head $2 bill with an opened scroll representing the Declaration of Independence to the right of Thomas Jefferson and a low-vision numeral on the back. And for the half, a redesign to a smaller (between nickel and quarter size) , thicker, nonagon shaped, possibly copper colored coin, and have Congress and the Treasury push THESE denominations, instead of that wasteful dollar coin. Since we don't have $2 coins or $0.50 bills, lets embrace our $2 bills and half dollar coins. And replace the current cotton/linen paper in our paper money with polymer plastic banknotes. THAT will cut down on any "need" to replace the $1 bill witha dollar coin any time soon. And also, I heard that Crane & Co. who manufactures our currency paper was checking into making the switch from manufacturing our cotton/linen paper, to manufaturing polymer plastic for our FRNs, but that was in the mid 1990s, when I talked to the Coin Coalition. So anyway, the fact is, Crane & Co. would not lose out much, if they made polymer sheets for our "paper" money. Then somehow get vendors and self checkout companies to adapt to new design $1 and $2 bills and halves. As soon as they are a part of our lives for a few months, they would be embraced better than a dollar coin. People would like new $2s so that they would not clog their wallets up with so many $1s, and seniors would like the smaller half that would weigh less than even ONE quarter, let alone, TWO quarters, so I think they would be a big hit after a few months of moanin' groanin' and hoardin'.
