Hello Ancients and Foreign coin lovers, I just received my invitation to the next New York International Numismatic Convention which will be held on January 12-15, 2023 I will be going on Saturday the 14th Who else will be attending this great event?
I would love to one day go to this show. Unfortunately this year, I can't go to NYINC or FUN - but, I'm still buying coins. I think I would really enjoy this show, even if my particular foreign interests are *quite* narrow.
I used to be a regular but haven't attended for a decade now. I'd take an Amtrak sleeper from the midwest and make a whole week of it. I think I miss the city more than the show.
I try to attend when I can, hope to be there this year as well. Probably Saturday, on Sunday it is much more convenient but many coins are gone by that time.
My wife wants me to take her to an Orchid Convention in New Jersey on Saturday the 13th. So I can only attend the NYINC Friday evening after work. So I will be there from 4:30 - 7:00 Wearing my CoinTalk button on my vest.
Today is the day. Is anyone attending and will be there this evening? I will be wearing this black and yellow cap..
Done! I kept it exactly at my $100.00 budget.. 1 - BC & 1 - AD + some Cuban Currency. Thread coming later tonight
I'd love to go to NYINC sometime, but it's rather geographically distant. I understand air travel hasn't been the smoothest experience for folks lately, either. I stay within a 6-7 hour drive from home, usually, so that limits my travel to FL, GA, and the Carolinas. I did attend FUN this year. It was the first show I had attended in 15+ years.
Say, I like those CoinTalk badges you are wearing in one photo. Makes spotting CT-ers easier. I relied on my "Holey Coin Hat" for folks to recognize me in the crowd at FUN.
Two large rooms and open air hallways around center staircase for the Bourse. A bit dizzying for my first coin show. Meeting a dealer named Perry and another named Pete the Greek were my highlights.
