So @paddyman98, I'm still patiently waiting to hear what you do with all the found zincolns and deteriorated Lincolns that you've found. My bank refused to take them. Do you have a local bank that WILL accept them (as an agent of the government to collect "bad" coins)? Steve
This morning. I thought I found a $10.00 bill.. A shiny earring.. Not gold .17 Cents in change. Found 1 more cent after I took this picture. My paintbrushes!
I used to have a friend that built stuff out of damaged cents. Small toys, cars, trains, small boxes. Not hard to solder them together. I wanted to try it but never had the time to play with it. Not sure how well Zincolns solder. Just a crazy thought.
I'm amazed at how much money I find on the ground, coins and currency, over the years. Two days ago at Walmart I found a dime on the floor in the entryway, absolute middle of the room. Folks must just not look down. As I've mentioned previously, my "ground-watching" got started when I was a young man with instability in both ankles from genetics and numerous sprains in basketball. I had to be careful of uneven surfaces and small rocks. Found pounds of coins over the years. Even after surgery on both ankles, which fixed the instability, the in-grained habit of looking down has continued. Heck, maybe I've found enough to pay for the deductibles on those surgeries. Steve
My preacher Dad had a sermon in which he used an illustration about a man who searched for FOG coins. I've got all of his sermons. I'll try to find it and tell the story.
My FOG two days ago in ND was a Canadian quarter. So I ask you, Paddy: how much did I find? 25 cents? 20 cents? . Steve
WOW! I'll sure work on it. I have a huge box that was transcribed by his secretary. He has been gone since 2000. There are not many out there as good as he was, but of course, I am just a little prejudiced.
I went to deposit some Money at my bank today. Across the street is a CoinStar machine I always check.. These were in the return bin -
Early this morning. Heading to McDonald's.. All in the street. Must of fell out of some drivers pocket getting into his car.
A lock nut for an electrical conduit connector? I used to flip the knockouts from the steel electrical boxes to any given target and people in some places would pick them up and save them thinking they would work in vending machines, of course they never would. Why would you want to save a locknut? Without the rest of the fitting it's worthless and as a business owner it made me angry when someone lost an integral part of a fitting that was useless without it.
I love Monty Python and the skits they did every week many years ago. I still have a copy of Paperbok in great condition that I've kept from the past. My grandparents and great aunt were school teachers who saved everything, like old margarine containers, marbles, milk bottles, anything they thought they could use for teaching, even string, lol. They've been gone for a long time now, thank you for sparking some wonderful memories of my younger years.
