Sorry I should have clarified. When I search certified proof like coins on eBay the results are clogged with self described "semi PL" coins. I can certainly appreciate reflective surfaces.
I've always wondered if verdigris is a good or bad word in @BadThad's book? Ya know, being it's conquerer and all
Pretty sure ICG will slab a fake in a holder that says "counterfeit" all over it. I thought of another term that really annoys me too: "making" a coin, as in getting it certified. Nobody "makes" coins except forgers, counterfeiters, or official mints.
Please pardon my Buttinski. Copper corrosion = corrosion, corrosion spots, environmental damage. In my experience any of the green crud that has not eaten into the coin = verdigris. IME the shades of gray-green, pale-green, and light-green film/spots on the coin's surface = PVC, environmental damage.
About the PQ term, I don't mind it, but I do mind the overuse of it as a huckster selling point. Likewise, the overuse of the terms "moose" & "monster" for toning evoke the same emotion. Buy when applied correctly, I have no problem with them.
"Not many of us here are experts but, ..." IMO we don't need to be experts to know enough of the basics to post sensible comments...Yes? Nevertheless, what about a poster named "Peace Dollar Jones" offering opinions on the ancient coin forums?
