Damn I wish I could help. I appreciate your problem cuz I have a bunch of older proof sets set aside from mom and dad that I’ve never even looked at. Your looking for something with that Dad was so excited with your birth kinda coin. And I looked all over till I found the right one. Good luck. Your very thoughtful
Oh my. I would think that’s the coin. Hard to top. My goodness that’s a coin that will even bring a tear to your eye whenever you look at it. But make sure you have about a hour free before you look at it. Cuz it’s going to take you back in time. Then kiss you spouse before you put it away
That’s a good idea too. Limited addition says your special also. @Hiddendragon. That trumps a proof set
The gifts I've given like this over the years have two requirements: 1. precious metal 2. commemorate the year My 2 cents..
How about a silver Proof set? I wish someone had bought one of these mint sets when I was born. I got a $25 saving bond instead. The mint set would have been worth a lot more.
A friend of mine had a good birth year idea. He got his grandson a 2022 Silver Eagle Proof and then acquire coins in 100 year intervals going as far back as he could. A 1922 Peace Dollar, then 1822, 1722, etc. I suggested a Tiberius denarius and assume it was minted in 22.
