Lol, saw this on the bay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1964-D-WASH...esartifacts-/311318835402?hash=item487c0c70ca Ever seen a Thermo-Nuclear rainbow toned quarter?
Yeah, of course I have seen such toning. I have coins in junk rolls that look like that. Many of those Whitman folders were put together in the early/mid 60's, so the 64's were BU. Well, combine fresh BU coins with high sulphur paper, add in some high humidity and this is the result. Downright common in old sets.
Is "Thermo-Nuclear Toning" the next stop in the coin doctor's office after the "Blast White" stage? Kidding, of course . . . I do love the color.
I for one, what documentation by a professional that backs up it's toning. At that price for toning, I should get a guarantee as well for my money back. What'll someone think of next?
Woof. Shysters will come with all sorts of clever names to dupe foolish people into buying an ugly coin. And that is an ugly coin.
Lets give the guy a break. Wouldn't you sell (legally) something like this for that kind of money. And it comes with a 14 day money back guarantee. Like P. T. Barnum said "never give a sucker and even break." And "There's a sucker born every minute."
