I just got a guy who is interested in buying my entire butterfly collection/ that will give me funds to get some rare gold coins. May offer to sell for 550K
If you are not planning on paying that much for it, then you should have more than enough money to outbid me on the following coins: https://elsen.bidinside.com/en/lot/27726/wisigoths-sisebut-612-621-av-tremissis-/ https://elsen.bidinside.com/en/lot/29322/allemagne-hambourg-ville-libre-av-20-/ https://elsen.bidinside.com/en/lot/29651/hafsid-abu-abdallah-muhammad-i-ad-/ https://elsen.bidinside.com/en/lot/29688/afghanistan-durrani-taimur-shah-as-nizam-/
I already have MS exs of those 4 coins. I have 8 coins from Hamburg/ 1497 Goldgulden I got as unsold from Heritage for 800US + fees ! Its -13 here today, too cold to work outside. Last week I worked with no shirt it was +18/ stupid weather. But I now can bid on Roma Auction. I am after 2 coins/ can only afford one.
Well, you could buy these 4 to offer them as prizes at your coin club... I avoid the Roma Numismatics auctions, interesting coins seem to regularly go for crazy prices there, so there is no point in me bidding for them.
I am really interested to see what coins will be on offer at the Spink coin auction that starts tomorrow.
My maximum on the first coin has been reached, so hopefully somebody will outbid me at the live auction tomorrow, they only need to bid 100 EUR more!
I had hopes on a Mouton d'or Jeanne & Wencelesas but alas all these rich elites spoil it for all average guys
I wish all of those investor types would just move on to bitcoin or something similar and leave our hobby alone.
I think they are just avid collectors like us/ with the exception that they have the financial means to spend a million on one coin The Tyrant collector is a prime example of someone who is passionate about coins.
