After going thru new Friedberg Book/ I feel really sad. The really awesome stuff I can never afford to buy. Those Swiss Kantonal multiple Dukaten are gorgeous/ as are the Transylvanian/ Holy Roman Empire/ German States.
Luckily my brain is wired differently than yours is, when I see those really large price tags, I almost immediately lose all interest and turn my focus to other coins.
Thats a first, I am more of a qualtity type collector than.... That big main objective coin at the end of the season... I like blowing my coin budget on lesser higher quality coins.
My "eyes" are the key factor in my personality. I like beautifull things. Hence my profession is looking after properties to keep them pristine. Sadly we live in a World today where that has been flushed down the toilet Today, architecture is God awfull compared to Baroque Era/ at least Putin has one thing going for him. His palatial homes are built along Baroque themes/ same for music/ art/ coinage. Transylvanian coins are super nice, ditto for Zurich/ Basel/ Chur/ Regensburg styles. Comparing..... American perfection 67 Corvette German piece of crap Messerschmitt car 1955 (should have stuck too aircraft design)
The book about her gold coinage is is going to arrive soon, so hopefully I will manage to find something in it.
I have the book by John Deyell he is my friend in our coin club here. John has written many books on Indian coinage.
If you are looking for a Caliphate of Cordoba Gold Dinar of Abd al-Rahman III, please feel free to bid on this one: https://www.aureo.com/en/subasta/0429
You are welcome, still I would really appreciate it if some kind soul outbid me on the above coin, I was so excited to have finally found one that I put in a higher maximum bid than I should have.
And yes, there are some nice coins in the medieval section, but they are too expensive for my liking.
Also, keep in mind that they have a second coin auction happening at the same time: https://www.aureo.com/en/subasta/0428
The "500" selection are their best auctions, creme de la creme coins. I am going after two/ but can only afford one The AV 50 Enriques is my fav. gold coin ever....at least I can look at it in Tauler & Fau book/ gold coinage Medieval Epoque. It was really crappy living in Medieval times/ but the gold coins were really awesome.
A weird thing about their auctions is that instead of high bids being updated immediately, they do it just once a day at a random time and they don't do it at all on weekends.
The other good thing/ most highest bids on auction day/ end up winning coin. With Heritage I have seen hysterical bidding frenzy during actual event/ were bidding goes 10X estimate.
