Not your typical off-metal error - 1943-S Nickel Struck on Steel Cent Planchet

    Sure it ain't the prettiest thing - actually, it's downright ugly - but it's the real deal, and that's all that matters :thumb:

    I believe less than 50 of this type of error are known to exist.

    It was the shop's purchase - can't afford to add it to my personal collection :(

    At least I can admire it for a little while longer before it's off to the auction block.

    If the condition were better, it'd be a five-figure coin easy.

    Just think how many people who would find this nickel in the ground, or anywhere, and would just throw it in jar because it appears to be nothing more than a damaged nickel.
    Awesome iGrade, and I look forward to it being in my collection.

    Good news! I found a war nickel.

    Bad news! It sticks to a magnet. No silver. Won't even go through the CoinStar.

    Man, I thought I had a $1.50 coin...
