We're all supposed to believe "things are changing fast"... that's what we're force-fed. But is it true ? Yes, some things are changing, but not always the direction they used to go. Nationwide, Computer Science enrollment for women peaked many years ago at 37%. It is now 26% and dropping. The life experiences of men and women have been so different for so long that evolution has had a say in the matter. And no amount of screaming will change that. Men and women are intrinsically different in many ways. Good Science proves it, regardless of what certain ideologies have to say. This is what we're supposed to believe... it's what we're force-fed. But is it true ? A woman was almost vice-president 24 years ago. The UK had a female Prime Minister over 20 years ago, and has not had another one since. Almost all Americans, myself included, have no problem with a female president. (Hopefully my daughter ! :whistle But women are more than 50% of the electorate, and have been for longer than any of us have been alive. And yet, politics remains male dominated. And right now, I can name you a Middle Eastern country which has a higher percentage of women in its Legislature than Canada, the UK, or the US. Iran. They also have a higher percentage of female doctors. There is no reason to think women will dominate politics any more than we would expect them to dominate basketball, auto mechanics, or skeet shooting. Is the reason oppression or a lack of opportunity ? Nonsense. The reason is obvious and unchangeable, and yet most are scared to say anything : men and women, as groups, are intrinsically different. Any reasonable person would expect men to dominate certain things, women others. Some things change no faster than evolution.
It's not so much evolution it's the way way we were brought up to think , and that takes awhile to change 100 years ago a woman couldn't vote , heck we men thought we were smarter , you're thinking nothing is changing , but your not giving it enough time , 50 years ain't nothing in the span of things , when we're both dead woman will be just as ingrained in the non physical jobs that men dominate today . rzage
