Ya, I thought it was just a tape seam.

Okay we worked it out. The coin was in a ziploc bag under the tape. The thing is, it had to be returned in its original packaging to be refunded so I would never have known that if he didn't tell me. The scratch was on the bag. I feel bad, but again, there is no way I could have known.

I would like to add a note to this sad situation. Sorry about your bad buy, truly. I sell on Ebay and deal in all sorts of stuff, coins, vinyl, books, tapes, electronics and on and on. But as one reader says "Does he just deal in coins...". Please do not exclude those of us who have many intrests and knowledge in all we do deal in. Thnkyou.

I thought it looked like it was in "something" under that tape.... just looked too "loose"....

    But still bad packaging....

Tape is a scary thing to a coin collector.

I make a special point of using those small manila envelopes instead of plastic bags when securing the coins to cardboard. Saves a lot of potential misunderstandings and anguish.
