I'm going to have to seek guidance from the wise ones on this one. Lol. When I first saw it, my mind went for MD, but, then I saw the "G". Is it, or is it not? I just want to be sure before I through it in the pile. Thanks!

I’m pretty sure it’s a type of non-value adding doubling

The upper part of the D with your blue arrows on it shows that half the width of the letter has been pushed down towards the surface of the coin making it appear flat and shelf-like. A true doubled die would look like the size of the letter has been increased and the doubled part raised.
Incuse on the die = raised on the coin

Hello expat. I agree with you. In fact, in my mind, MD was the cause, especially in reference to the "O" and "D". It is just that G that was making me pause. When I look at it, I clearly see spreading. I am still very new at this though. I really appreciate your help!
