Well, I only know the story from what the text says. But I read it as $800 for that tablet.

Saweeet Ushabti! My wife says sometimes I'm demonic, but that won't translate your inscription very well will it?:vulcan:

I can determine that the verb iret is among the first symbols. The gist of it is this

O (unknown name)....May you be one who lives forever and ever...

There are a few symbols that I can't quite discern. Keep in mind that I am not a demotic expert, nor have I studied Coptic extensively. Theorists think that literacy in Egypt actually improved by the late period, whereas in earlier times it was somewhat restricted to priests and scribes

Thanks! I knew the general formula for these but I was hoping to have a name.

Did it take the folks at Agora a bit to send you an invoice? The email said to expect one within 24 hours. When I didn't get one after a couple of days I emailed...but no response and no invoice:sorry:

It just came in the mail! And, as always, looks even cooler in hand...or in case at it were (I was so excited I had to give it a home with some of my other ancients). With out further ado here is my new cuneiform tablet!

Well, I don't own any cuneiform inscriptions, but if you come to Baltimore you can see these on display at the Walters Art Museum:
