    jgenn World Crown Collector

Here's one from my collection of world crowns from the period of the union between the Kingdom of Norway and the Kingdom of Denmark, 1660-1814. Norway issued its own coinage and circulated alongside Danish currency during this time -- the rigsdaler specie at 120 skilling was the large silver crown equivalent. The rigsdaler specie would be renamed the speciedaler in 1816 but you are likely to see the earlier rigsdaler specie catalogued as such. My example of the rigsdaler specie was minted in Kongsberg at the Royal Norwegian Mint (crossed hammers mintmark).
