@mlov43 Have you seen this? NGC certified some coins given to Dennis Rodman when he visited North Korea (I want to share this webpage with everyone) https://www.ngccoin.com/news/article/7642/dennis-rodman-north-korea-coins/
Interesting. They are all "Mt. Kumgang Souvenir" coins. My North Korean coins aren't nearly as fancy and I didn't get them as a gift from "The Most Respected Marshall Kim Jong Un". I just had to buy them when I went to the DMZ.
Hmmh interesting... I see some sets for the recent peace meeting But I'm also surprised to see graded coins aren't going for much... You would think a forbidden countries coins would go for much higher. Oh, yeah! Saw this in my FB feed. So, what are these coins? Specimen pieces or rare commemoratives? NGC doesn't really say in its article. They "don't normally certify NK coins," but... because a famous athlete was gifted them, ...well, we'll make an exception. I would normally be pretty agnostic on the topic of such coins (I don't collect NK, as I think their coins are at best overpriced and quite ugly) but there's something about these coins and circumstances in which they got graded that I find very distasteful. Perhaps I'm just a prude...
