And the Liberty on Eagle coins looks nothing like Weinman,s design either. Just another expensive bullion coin.

 

Agreed, the details could show beautifully.

But I think the design might not translate well to a larger 1 oz format. Too over-sized for my taste:

Just because Provident hired a hack doesn't mean a real sculptor couldn't have done a good job. Wonder if the mint still has the original plaster models?
