physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

Everyone seems to think these are so rare.... but at least one or two go to auction each year it seems. They are insanely expensive, but I don't understand why. Okay, it's an off-metal strike. No more impressive than a coin struck on a random foreign planchet, for example.

Why does everyone go crazy for these?

I'm quite sure the history of the war and the government's involvement in denying they were ever made and the letters they sent out rejecting the mistake. The same is true of the 1969s doubled dies that the secret service confiscated because they believed they were counterfeit. They go for moon money as well.

Anything north of a million times face value might as well be the moon for me.
