Welcome to the world of Variety Collecting!! Never a dull moment when you CRH. Every coin has potential. If you go to the site I posted, you'll find a bunch of information about Clashes, especially those that folks are most interested in acquiring. There are also a number of links at the site that lead you to the broader world of errors and varieties (DDOs/DDRs, Cuds on Coins, Trails, Lincoln Varieties). So much to explore and have fun with. Many folks get involved in coin collecting to build sets or acquire old coinage. But many expand to the fringes of collecting and start to target varieties and error coins (oddities).

When I started to CRH, I would race through a box of Cents in a couple of hours: dump and look for the old coins (LWCs and IHCs). But as you'll see or already know, finding a dozen or less keepers out of 2500 may not seem overly productive. However, if you expand your hunt to include error coins, varieties, and high grade/MS coins, you slow down the process and make it more productive. For instance, finding 10 wheat cents might be worth a dollar or so. However, find one 1998 WAM Lincoln Cent...$8-10. 1999 WAM...maybe $100. So most of the value for me during a CRH is finding a coveted variety or a decent DDO/DDR. having a list of what you are looking for helps a great deal since there are so many to find. And of course, finding a strong clash or a clipped coin is fun...along with the LWCs and IHCs if you are lucky.
