I was just wondering if anyone could tell if these are no clad coins both are 1977 if not where can I go find out?
@Chriscc78[/USER] Missing Clad error is well known. I can tell you that it is an issue that usually involves just one side of a Clad Quarter or any other Clad coins.. Here are examples from my collection - The other side of each of these coins look perfectly normal.
Hare are example of a similar Mint Error called Defective, Incomplete or Partial Missing Clad so you can see the difference in colors between the Clad top Layer and the Copper inner core.. From my collection -
@Chriscc78 And finally.. As stated concerning your clad coins.. Environmental Damage Here are examples from my Metal Detected clad coins. All were affected by soil, sand, dirt and the elements -
Is this the first time that you've posted the SBA, Mr. P.? I don't recall ever seeing it before. Cool! Chris
So I have been thoroughly inspecting my coins...and I just get discouraged i guess from lack of understanding why is it on ebay these coins go for hundreds or thousands but then you see the value is 5 or 10 bucks if your lucky why is this
There is a big difference between what something is worth, and what someone is selling it for on eBay. If you have a newer Red Book, it has pricing of generic errors by type, which will give you ball park prices. Fred Weinberg would be the best source for pricing. He may have a pricing mailer, or at least direct you to some good websites. These things have been discussed here before, so you may be able to search them out. It takes something pretty special to be worth thousands of dollars.
Go on eBay and order all coins by price, with highest first. Then check the box that says show only sold items. Very little of the eBay crap sells for decent money.
Because a fool and his money are soon parted. The difficulty is getting the fools to bid on YOUR auctions
