I did not mean to offend; but I did take the particular approach to organizing that stood out in my mind as most different from how I might approach it to be illustrative as such. </p><p><br /></p><p>Enjoyment of a particular organizing approach is reason enough to do it. If that involves tags or flips or slabs or rolling the coins across a concrete floor, that&#039;s the collector&#039;s prerogative no matter what anyone else says about it. But I do think it&#039;s valuable to offer an alternate view if you have one. If everyone agrees with a particular method or technique put forward on a thread (and there&#039;s a great tendency to do this), then it may indeed have value to someone reading the thread for advice about the subject. Yet they may come away with the impression that &quot;this is the way it must be done.&quot;</p><p><br /></p><p>However, I should clarify that my ideas were meant primarily for the consideration of other collectors. It seems to me that dealers — or anyone who sells and displays coins regularly, such as at shows — have more of a practical imperative to maintain a system of clear and informative tags. But if as a collector you ENJOY something, then it&#039;s a necessity to you. After all, enjoyment is one of the most important aspects of collecting.
