Thank you Bud. A grown man IS allowed to cry. I have not moved her blanket or washed her pillow as I still need to smell her. Her ashes are nearby my bed and I made a 16" X 20" poster which hangs on the wall in my living room with my two children. The full photo was the last I took of her last summer Me & Popeye-2012.JPG . The other is when she was around 5. IMG_5710.JPG

Attractive pet dog, there Tommyc03.... I too lost my beautiful Blue Heeler, back in 2013... it was hard without her... but you know.. I just went to the rescue pound and found a small Chihuahua barking at me... when I approached it, it stopped, wagged it tail and that was it ... "Love At First Bark !" I brought her home, turned out to be a spayed female... and guess what... now she's my Niece's Pet Dog ! LOL Oh well, at least I get to babysit her while the family members are all gone... Do I miss this little gurl? Nope, traveling is fun and no worry of my pets is awesome !

Frugal, a friend of mine once had a Blue Heeler and she was beautiful...he named her UGLY. I once asked him why he named that beautiful girl ugly? He said when he called his WIFE ugly she always thought he was talking to the dog...Yep I also have some weird friends just like myself..
But Frugal I don't want to suggest that you may not have been completely truthful.. but I would bet that once in a while you just may miss that lady just a little :(

Spirityoda the problem with using a dictionary is that first, you have to be able to read, understand and remember what you have read...Wilson is a good name to have, it only took me 35 years to be able to spell it twice the same way, sometimes.
We also have a cat that my wife rescued and he is named BLUE, he is now sitting on the window sill alongside me as I write.
    We love animals.:cat:
Before I was married I owned my home and had a Border Collie dog named WOLF. He lived with me in the house and life was beautiful.. I would on occasion have a female guest and some of them thought having a dog living in the house was less than the right thing to do. Then some of them would say " I don't think your dog likes me", well the ladies were not invited back and then I met Carole, she loved dogs, WOLF loved her.
That was enough for me, 44 years later we still have dogs and cats in our new house in the country...life is beautiful.

Thank you Bud. Folks often wondered why I named a she a he. My Mom's nickname when she was a kid was Popeye because she had to be so tough growing up. The neighborhood she grew up in frowned on Polish people (depression era) and she was always the person to suffer their insults. My baby was the runt of her litter and was a bit on the sick side when I received her. While she was sick and I was nursing her back to good health is where our bond began. I don't think she ever forgot that kindness and was mine alone until the end. And your Bud is indeed beautiful.

Sorry to hear about your mother having had a tough time during her childhood.
Polish and Italian emigrants were treated real bad during the depression years and for no reason other than they were here.
I wrote a thread a few days ago about a friend of mine who owned a shoeshine shop, he was a Greek...He was treated badly when he first came to this country and was continued to be treated with disrespect all his life. He would hunch over and shine the shoes of phony business men who would tip him a few cents and strut out of his shop.
Well my good friend Jim passed away last year and the Local Media published his approximate wealth in excess of multi millions of dollars plus he owned several businesses in the City that I had no I idea that he owned..:smug:
