Reminds me of how nice silver plate pieces look when new...and how bad they look later in their lives.
If you look close, you can see PVC damage on the reverse especially, ribbon reef and U and PESO 1964. Which can be repaired.
I love those 20 centavos! I picked these up for a song (based on the catalog value which may or may not be inflated)and consider myself very lucky. The 1920 is the toughy. The 1935 catalog value is not as high.
Nice! I have been trying to find one in mint state for a long time at a reasonable price. Most that I have seen are either not attractive or very expensive.
Yours is a nice example. They were minted in 1914 and 1915 in both Copper and Brass. A large variety of weights and diameters exist. Quality control was not a priority at the time. Here is my 1914
COINS OF MEXICO IN MY COLLECTION : http://giladzuckermanbeitarfan.homestead.com/files/mercuguinness.html#MEXICO
I love Mexican Decimal coinage and have a few 1 Peso coins sitting around in flips. Big fan of the 1921 silver 2 Pesos design and the Caballito Peso (1910-1914) and have been looking for a nice, well struck, original and affordable! example to add to the collection for a while. Revolution coinage of Mexico is also a fascinating area of collecting, with some neat, albeit sometimes crude, designs. And of course, if you want to see some older colonial Mexico coins - check out the link in my signature
Also, here are the two designs I mentioned earlier. Not my coins, just images I pulled from CoinArchives.
