Funny how you get a ball rolling in here and the dogs come out for the kill. OP, I like the coin. Keep snagging any coin that you like and can afford. Don't pay any attention to the wannabees.
That's... really amazingly useful. Thanks! (Wonder if they'll "fix" this by and by, as they did for US listings some time ago?) Prior to this, the best trick I'd found was to concoct a Completed Items search that included the auction in its results, and then sort it by price. eBay still doesn't display the price realized, but it appears to sort by the price realized, so you can at least bracket the actual price (had to be more than the next-lowest listed price, and less than the next-highest). There's been a time or two when eBay appeared to have "fixed" this as well, but last time I checked it still worked.
Well this might explain part of it... arrived today... seems said seller likes to play with lightfilling a bit much or photographed under very very bright light but nomal light most of the toning is blue-grey. Will also have to do a bit more research now coin is in hand I don't believe it to be a 4b but we'll see. I'm actualy happier with this darker toning the other toning/patina in the sellers pic looked more like nicotine staining to me. Some rub/wear but still a great strike for a 1904-O.
wow, stopped reading this thread after this post but jeez...people are ripping you because you came on here and blew smoke talking about getting a coin for around melt (18 bucks or so) which everyone on here knows you did not. Come on here with the truth and people won't be so quick to jump on you. That being said who cares whether he juices his story a bit to make it sound better, everyone has probably done it a time or two in their lives.
So, in summation: he lied about the price he bought a coin, and was wrong about the "cherrypick" he thought he got. Is there an "ignore" button for this forum?
I just got back from a weekend walleye fishing derby... judging by the beers-around-the-campfire conversation, it is done far more often than one can imagine!!
Uhhhhh Hello? Is anybody home? The man said that it was a BIN Listing and he emailed the seller with a Best Offer which was not part of the listing. As long as there are NO BIDS, such as a Buy it Now Listing (which do in fact have ending dates), a seller can change a listing to include a Best Offer. No rules were broken and no policies were evaded as the coin sold through eBay with an accepted Best Offer and it was paid for through PayPal. YOU seem to be stuck on whether or not eBay got their final value fee's and whether or not PayPal got their fee's. From all thats been stated, they have, unless I've misread something..
