I just finished cleaning this Camp Gate. It looks real good. As always, comments and corrections are welcome.

A "before" photo would be interesting.

That is my thought also. And, being almost an Octogenarian, I never think about it in time. But I plan to start doing some of that. I've had some real crumby looking coins come out real nice. Thanks for the feedback.

Does that still have silvering on it?

Yes, almost complete surface. Very nice.

    That's great!
The campgates that I have tried to clean were god-awful in terms of surface. Definitely no silvering left.
    Congratulations!

Personally, I find the SHT in the exergue offensive. We know what they meant. Those snarky mint slaves--you can't turn your back on them for a minute.

Okay, just kidding. Nice cleaning job. The coin looks great.

    Nice job cleaning, @Inspector43 ...

I just do not possess the patience.

Here is a Crispy Critter Campgate:

@Alegandron Thanks for the feedback. Mine don't all end up that way. The one you posted looks just fine to me.

Oh, I just noticed! Yours is CONSTANTIUS II, not Constantine II.

That's a job well done. Especially the reverse looks good, with the silvering still on it.

    Here's mine (Constanine I):

I haven't been at this a long time. How can you tell when they both have the same markings? And, they are both Thessalonica 158?

Because the legend reads FL IVL CONSTANTIVS NOB C. It's easy to confuse CONSTANTINVS with CONSTANTIVS, just as it's easy to confuse MAXIMIANVS with MAXIMINVS.

You simply wrote Constantine II in the first part of your post by mistake. The rest of the coin is attributed properly.
