Found this guy picking through an old penny roll. It’s probably the best quality wheatie I’ve ever found. Any ideas how it would grade?

Too many contact marks in the fields to grade MS, but it still does have nice luster.

    Contact marks aren’t wear. MS63.

Contact marks affect the grade from 60 to 70 on the grading scale. What makes it Au is the disturbed luster.

However, they don't take a mint state coin, i.e., a coin without wear, out of mint state.

Nice to find a wheat in that shape! Congrats! I would say it's around an AU50?

After putting it in a 2x2 flip, I noticed this one also has what seems to be a die rotation error...not sure if it's within the tolerances that would've been acceptable at the time, or a true error, but there's a difference in alignment nonetheless between the obverse and reverse.
